An evening of Myth and Poetry
February 1, 2017 in Trinidad, CO
The variety of writers in Wordsmiths & Storytellers takes you to places you could never imagine, whether it is Bob Spears' Twisted Fairytales' or Ann Williams' stories of Vikings conquering Ireland. Jan Meserve puts her Zen practice and musings on life into beautiful words and I, well I read all over the map.
Lately Bob Spears and I have been writing poems bouncing off of ideas offered in the last work by the other person. It was fun during this evening's program to present a few of these, a string of poems about leaving home for college, about the buses that took us away, and about coming back home if only for vacation.
Thanks to everyone who read. Also thanks to the Giodone Branch Library and Kayci Barnett for the opportunity to present our work in their space (and, of course, for the snacks.)
