He sings of love, life, and the experience of being human. His music has been described as everything from folk to bluegrass to blues but what it is, is captivating, beautiful, and truthful. Come have a listen to this insightful young man and,in between sets, I'll be reading poetry selections, some from my book Life at the Far End and some that have happened since then. It promises to be a great evening.
Then we headed up the interstate from Walsenburg to Union Ave in Pueblo to experience the music of two very talented artists, Daniel Amedee and Jake Stanton. The Daily Grind's Aaron Huntsberry was running the show and invited me to read poetry between sets.

Poetry and Music

Storytelling has been a long tradition, passing down tales from one generation to the next, recording and remembering times gone by. Come sit in the beautiful, open-air amphitheater at Lathrop State Park and listen to my versions of these ancient stories of heros and monsters, of amazing deeds and astonishing magic, of the men, women, and children who have made up the history of Scotland and the British Isles.
It was a busy weekend of sharing stories. First stop was Lathrop State Park outside of Walsenburg Colorado for a round of traditional Scottish tales. The weather was perfect, the sunset was beautiful and the crowd was warm, friendly, and interesting. It was a treat to meet folks from near and far. And, as always, the park's Interpretive Naturalist, Tom Macedo took very good care of us.
